Itinerary
Day 1: From Cusco to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary
We will start very early in the morning in Cusco. Hotel pickup time is around 3:30 AM to 5:00 AM (Time coordinated one day before departure, according to the Machu Picchu entrance ticket schedule). We will travel by transport for approximately 2 hours to the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will board our train bound for Aguas Calientes. The train journey is approximately 2 hours and offers breathtaking views along the way.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our staff will be waiting for you to take you to the bus station and head directly up to Machu Picchu. The guided tour in the Inca citadel will last approximately 2 and a half hours, during which you will learn about Inca history and visit the most important areas (The route depends on the purchased circuit, subject to availability of circuits 1, 2, and 3).
If you have booked an additional hike, such as Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you will have time to do it and explore the site independently.
In the afternoon, you will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes. From there, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo, where transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
